CLONCAIRD CASTLE HOSTS ‘THE BEST OF AYRSHIRE’ EVENT

29th February 2020

On Saturday 29th February, Cloncaird Castle in Kirkmichael opened its doors to the public for the first time to celebrate ‘The Best of Ayrshire 2020’.

Guests were invited to enjoy ‘The Best of Ayrshire’ and tour the facilities at the Castle. The hidden gem at the Castle is the award-winning ‘The Atrium’ which acts as a remarkable, unique and intimate event space. Visitors were encouraged to take in the cottages, the Estate and sample the delicacies offered by local food producers. There was an opportunity to meet with the local artisan and makers collaborators and see their designs and craftsmanship in situ at this stunning setting.

The Ayrshire Food Network members who supply the new on-site Honesty Shop provided guests with the opportunity to ‘try and buy’ from a range of 12 locally sourced producers. The design team was on hand to offer upholstery demonstrations and paint finishing by Scotland’s Craig & Rose Paints. Guests were invited to participate in an exciting range of new outdoor activities including archery and enjoy Estate and riverside walks.

A FREE photographic competition was held on the day, to capture and share the spirit of Cloncaird. Guests were invited to creatively capture the best bits of the event, and share their photographs on social media to be in with a chance of winning a luxury stay at The Ayrshire Loft.
